About ME
My name is Paul Ammon. I am a sounddesigner based in Berlin, Germany.
Musical background
From a young age on I have been surrounded by music of many genres. From jazz, funk, soul and bossa nova to rock and even classical music, a capella and gospel.
In my teenage years I stumbled upon electronic music and started listening to drum ‘n’ bass, breakbeats, house, contemporary dubstep and many other styles of electronic music, through which I discovered my passion for bass-music in general and bass-sounddesign in particular.
Over the last few years I rediscovered my love for more complex harmonies and rhythms which led me to the London Jazz-scene and to jazz and funk of the 70s.
That then inspired me to pick up E-bass and keyboard.
In addition cinematography sparked my interest in orchestral film music which is now a driving factor in the pursuit of my musical career.
My Expertise
I started producing my own music at the age of 14 and haven't stopped since.
Through my ever changing musical journey and the endless consumption of youtube tutorials and masterclasses, I taught myself everything I know about music production and continue to do so to this day.
During the last two years I have been studying sounddesign
at ‘Wave Akademie für Digitale Medien’ where I learned a lot about the professional side of sounddesign and about important subjects like acoustics, metering and analog signalchains.
Here I also learned the theory of orchestration and sound dramaturgy,
which helped me to implement my already acquired skills to create captivating film scores.
